How to get to Pardubice?

By car

The city is easily reachable from west, by D11 highway towards Hradec Kralove, then switch to I/36.The journey takes about an hour and half to travel and is about 130 kms long. The speed limit on Czech highway is set to 130 kmph (80 mph). The drivers must buy a toll sticker (200 CZK = 8€ for a week) for legal driving on the Czech highways.
From Vienna, the shortest way is to take the E 461 through Brno and then turn left at the crossroads with E 442, which goes around the city, so you have to turn left again in the Pardubice‘s directon as soon as possible. The distance from Austrian metropolis to Pardubice is about 275 km (170 miles).
The shortest way from the Slovakia is through Bratislava, and from there by the D2 highway to Brno, where you meet the route from Vienna described above. It is 275 km far from Pardubice.

By bus or by train

You can find the connection at http://jizdnirady.idnes.cz/vlakyautobusy/spojeni/ (for English version, click on the icon in the right - bottom corner). The bus terminal and the train main station are located next to each other.

By plane

Unfortunately, the number of international flights to Pardubice airport is very limited. However, you could use the airport in Prague (airport code: PRG), which is 150 km far. Prague has aerial connection with most metropolises all around the world, but mostly with European capital cities.
To get from the airport to the centre of Prague, you can get to the Metro station using one of public buses, we recommend you No.100 (Terminal North 1 - Terminal North 2 - ZLICIN, journey time 15 min) or No.119 (Terminal North 1 - Terminal North 2 - DEJVICKA, journey time 20 min). By metro you can continue to the main railway station called in Czech language "Hlavni nadrazi" (in the case that you use train to Parduibce) or to the main bus station called "Florenc" (in the case that you use bus to Pardubice). Prague Transit Company charges a fare of CZK 26 (= 1 EUR) for all journeys. Tickets can be bought from vending machines in the airport or in newspaper kiosks. Alternatively you can use the direct bus service Airport express form the airport to the train main station. The cost is 50 CZK ( = 2 EUR) and you can buy the ticket directly from the driver. On request we can help tou with the transfer from the airport to train station / bus terminal in Prague.
